(canoe $3 pp, 550 meters above sea level)
The lagoon island Paicawe is a private project 1Km from Misahualli. It consists of the conservation of something more than 3 hectares in order to create a natural zoo where animals and plants can live freely. In the center of the lagoon there are two islands inhabited by a large number of animals in the area.
The owner of the lagoon offers a route of around 1Km in canoe ($ 3pp, 20 min) around the lagoon. On the tour the local guide shows the biological richness of the place. In the islands of the center live animals such as monkeys, alligators, different species of birds and a large number of plants in their natural state.
The lagoon is very close to Misahualli, only 10 minutes walking across the suspension bridge of the Napo River. There is paved road to reach by car. However, once in the lagoon, the only way to appreciate all the flora and fauna of the place is by renting the owner the canoe in a trip for 20 minutes ($ 3 per person) around the lagoon. On the way the guide describes all the animals and flora that the place has.
